Almost six months ...

Gosh, I can hardly believe I haven't been here for nearly six months.  How did that happen?  I have no idea but suffice to say, I need to get back in to this blogging lark and to start off with I'll show a few cards I've made recently.

First is Holly's birthday card

I love these new dies and stamps.

I wanted to do something different for the inside so I did a concertina greeting.  It didn't turn out quite as I wanted but Holly thought it was fun so that's all that matters.

I am so in love with this stamp too - it's perfect for colouring in with Promarkers as I have in this card and the one below with a matching envelope.

Another one using a butterfly background rather than a vellum one.

and finally this one has been watercoloured

Hopefully I'll be back again soon with more cards or even the odd scrapbook page.

Trolley Dolly

Sue's August sketch challenge is up and it's a super one this month.

I loved this picture of Erin-Rose and couldn't wait to scrap it and the sketch was perfect.  I made a journalling card instead of using two photos.

Erin-Rose is one!

Tomorrow, it's our little cherub's first birthday - how quickly the time has gone.  It doesn't seem 5 minutes since Chris, Holly, Gracie and I got the news that a baby girl had arrived and we raced to Asda to buy some pink clothes before going to the hospital!

She has grown into such a cutie and she is so clever - I can see we are going to have our hands full in the coming months.

Ages ago we bought this mouse to put away for her first birthday

so I wanted to make a card in a similar vein and my lovely friend Sue, said she would send me some mice she cut out on her Cricut so this is the end result.

I added some fabric to the inside of her ears and front and  a bow to match the dress I have made for Erin-Rose and that was it, a very easy card, thanks Sue :D

I also made a gift tag using a smaller mouse Sue also sent.

Birthday cards and other bits and bobs

June is a busy time for me birthday wise and here are a few cards I've made so far this month.

Some new papers and the in colours for 2015-2017 from Stampin Up.

This is the inside.

A card for my brother in law's 60th birthday.

The bags I made for Adam and Lucy's wedding anniversary gift of matching aprons.

A few post it notes for my neighbour

and finally a card for my friend Pam's step daughter's 40th birthday.  We are going to her BBQ tomorrow and the invite said no gifts so I thought I'd do a special card instead.

It's another easel card with a drawer full of note cards.

Maria's birthday card with note cards.

I wanted to make a special card for my friend Maria's birthday and I saw this ages ago and really liked it but never got around to making one.  Anyway I thought it was perfect for what I wanted with a little tweaking - I wanted to put some 4" x 3" notecards and envelopes in the drawer so made it bigger.

This is the result:

This is the box

and the box open

the easel card inside

and the little drawer showing the note cards.

Penguin card in a box

I was asked to make a card for my friend's step daughter's 40th birthday.  She wanted penguins, Robbie Williams, Take That, Olly Murs, New Kids on the Block and Taylor Lautner.  Oh yes and the colours of Aston Villa, her favourite football team!

This is what I came up with:

It all folds flat to go in an envelope too.

I just hope she likes it.

Matchbook

My friend Maria has started a swap group on FB for our UKs team the Bijoux Belles.  Last month, the theme was tags - make two and send them out to whoever Maria drew out of the hat for you.  I didn't take part and when I saw the photos of all the lovely tags, instantly regretted it so this month when matchbooks were mentioned, I decided I would join in.
These are what I came up with:

I though a box would be a good idea to put them in :)
