Beat the Christmas Rush

It time to start thinking about Christmas, making a few cards each month so that by the end of November, there will be a nice big stack ready just to write.  This is a challenge started by my lovely friend Sue and one that I really am glad I take part in :)

I've kept my cards very simple this month but I do actually like them -

and here are all 5 together.

Why not join in - come December, you will be so glad you did!

The Story

I love this picture of Erin-Rose and her Great Grandmother and thought it would be a nice one to scrap for the weekly challenge on UKs.

The challenge was to:

1: use the sketch

2: use square photo(s)
3: use 2 different Alphas
4: use 10 embellishments (these do not have to be the same)
5: use 3 or more patterned papers
6:use a love theme (could be someone you love/somewhere you love/something you love or using hearts or Valentine's day or a wedding etc etc)
7: use punched or die cut shapes

We challenge use to pick 3 things from the list (each is worth 10 points).
Feel free to use more than 3 of our ideas but you can only claim 30 points maximum

I seemed to manage all the criteria I think with my page!

Get Well Soon

Erin-Rose had to spend the night in hospital on Thursday - she wasn't drinking enough and the doctors were concerned that she would be dehydrated so needed monitoring and giving Dioralite throughout the night which worked and she was allowed home on Friday morning.  Lucy sent me this picture of Erin fast asleep in a big girls bed and I just had to scrap it :)

I used the criteria from the weekly challenge on UKs which was:-

A - alter something
B - use brads, buttons, bingo card - at least one
C - use cream, claret or cool colours - at least one

This is what I chose to alter - some labels off a garment -

and this is the finished result.

The envelope contains the journalling of the events of the day.

A few more winter scavenger hunt pictures

I'm enjoying doing this challenge but I'm not very good at remembering to take the right photos Lol!

Here are a few more I took last week.

9.  My craft space - bulging.  This is only a glimpse of my craft room and the tidiest bit.

You may or may not be able to imagine what the rest is like!

28.  A cobweb

20.  Foot prints, crunching.

Holly and Ivy

The monthly challenge on UKs for February was to use this lovely colour pallette.

I wanted to scrap this picture of Holly

which I took for the winter scavenger hunt and I also wanted to use Sue's super sketch.

I rotated it to suit my portrait photo and came up with this.

Sue's sketch challenge is open to everyone and there is a prize to win so why not have a go?
