The Bijoux Belles, best friends forever...

It's my team, the Bijoux Belles' turn to set the weekly challenge on UKs this week and here is what we decided to go with:-

» scrap about a team or group - 10 points
» journal about your feelings for that team or group - 10 points
» either include 6 of the same element on your page or rescrap a page you made in 2008 - 10 points

I decided that I would scrap a picture of the BBs on our annual retreat as I'm not a member of any other team or group.

I used 6 photos because I have no idea if I was even scrapping in 2008 - I didn't really start until I joined the BBs, so couldn't use a layout from that time.

We always have such fun when we are away together - I think I laugh more there than at any other time.

Here is the journalling on the other side of the tucked in tag.

They really are a special bunch of girls:)

Joy

A new baby grandchild certainly brings joy, that's for sure :)

Isn't she just perfect?  My son sent me this picture of Erin-Rose this morning and I had to scrap it straight away so used the criteria from the weekly challenge on UKs to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

Here's what we had to do:
Something old, something blue, something borrowed (or recycled), something blue, plus use gold and something see through or sheer.

Something old are the crystals I have used on the hearts and stars and also the vellum, something new are the stamps and the joy die, something borrowed, forgot and something blue, in the patterned papers.  The crystals are gold and the vellum is sheer.

and the journalling.

Imagine

life without Erin-Rose...

The weekly challenge on UKs is to use a one word title, yellow and a flower or an insect.  I have been in my starting blocks to use the photo Adam took the other day so this is what I came up with.

There is quite a lot of white space for me but I am pleased with it.

Project Life and Erin-Rose

Because already I have lots of photos of Erin-Rose I am making a Project Life type album for her from my point of view and will give it to her at a later date.  There will also be some normal scrapbook pages in it too.

I haven't done the very first page yet as I'm exactly sure how I want to go about it but it will tell to story of how we first found out about her, a couple of scan pictures and how we felt about the new.

This is the day she was born

and this, the day after

Project Life doesn't come easily to me - whether I over think it I'm not sure but I am hoping that if I do it on a regular basis I will get the hang of it and find some sort of style.

A card for the new baby in our life

Our first grandchild was born on Tuesday so I've made a card for Adam and Lucy using the SU stamps I bought especially for this occasion:)

There is lots of fussy cutting and layers

making it a bit front heavy so to counteract this, instead of using a traditional paper insert I used three layers of card stock - white, pink then white on the back to make it more stable.

I hope they like it:)

An update...

Well, yesterday I posted to say our first grandchild was on their way and she finally arrived at 20:28 weighing in at 8lb 7oz and her name is Erin-Rose.  She is absolutely perfect and beautiful and we got to have a cuddle with her this morning.

Congratulations Adam and Lucy, we are the proudest grandparents in the land!!!

My boy

This is a photo of Adam when he was about 8 or 9 months old and I have chosen this picture to scrap for the weekly challenge because right now, as I am writing this, Adam is about to become a father himself.  Lucy is in labour and we are hoping for some news very soon!

This will be our first grandchild so as you can imagine, Chris and I are so excited and can't wait to meet our grandbaby:)
